A Community of Compassion
Our mission at Ecumenical Retirement Community is to provide an affordable retirement community of diversity and autonomy, where empowered residents of different religions, cultures and races live together to make a difference inside and outside of the community. It’s what sets us a part from other senior living communities. We recognize and appreciate that our residents value contributing to the very neighborhoods that fostered their livelihoods. And where they may not be able to give back financially, they donate their time and talents to create a similar impact.
Being compassionate isn’t just a mission of our residents, it is instilled in our co-workers too. According to Ecumenical Retirement Community residents Russel and Rose Marie, the campus’ co-workers make life easy and fun for our residents.
We Want to Make a Difference, As Do Our Residents
The Ecumenical Retirement Community is a not-for-profit Pennsylvania retirement community designed to provide the middle class with affordable senior housing apartments with services ranging from independent living to dementia care in Harrisburg, and everything in between. Our community is managed by The George M. Leader Family Corporation (a company formed by late Pennsylvania Governor George Leader and his family who owns Country Meadows Retirement Communities) with over 30 years of experience serving the retirement needs of seniors in Pennsylvania and western Maryland.
The Legacy Fund
It is the intent of the Ecumenical Retirement Community to utilize The Legacy Fund to enrich the lives of whom we care and serve by supporting projects that enhance the community beyond what is included in the annual operating budget. With the approval of the Board of Directors, the fund may be used for campus projects to further connect residents with their own community as well as support a variety of programs, services, technologies or infrastructure that will encourage and support residents in living happier, healthier and more engaged.
