Ecumenical Retirement Community Earned Great Places to Work Certification Based on Anonymous Survey
Harrisburg, Pa. (May 27, 2026) – Ecumenical Retirement Community has been named “Great Places to Work” for 2026. Through an anonymous co-worker survey presented by Activated Insights, Great Places to Work®, certifies companies where employees feel valued, respected and connected to the company culture. This year, 80% of co-workers from all nine Country Meadows campuses and Nursing Center and its sister organizations: Ecumenical Retirement Community and Lifesong Hospice and Palliative Care, completed the survey.
“Listening to our co-workers is critical to building a positive and supportive company culture. We take every piece of feedback to heart and learn how to best support co-workers in their roles, personally and professionally,” described Meredith Mills, President and CEO of Ecumenical Retirement Community. “Because of these surveys, over the years, we have been able to enhance our health benefits company wide, organize changes at a campus level and learn how co-workers can best be supported in their day-to-day. This is important to us because when our co-workers are proud to come to work and passionate about supporting our residents and their families, their satisfaction translates into the quality care we deliver and are known for in the community.”
For example, this year’s results indicate that co-workers see their role as much more than a job with 90% of survey participants saying their work has special meaning. Additionally, 88% of respondents feel like they make a difference and 87% feel good about the ways the organization contributes to the community.
“In addition to the positive affirmations gleaned from this survey, the results are showing opportunities for growth in the ways co-workers are recognized for their contributions and receive communication and feedback,” continued Mills. “These learnings are just as important and help us chart strategic plans and company-wide initiatives that support, strengthen and hopefully grow our workforce.”
The Great Places to Work Survey measures the organizations credibility, fairness, respect, camaraderie and pride. Co-workers respond to questions based on scales and have the opportunity to share anecdotal feedback about their individual experiences and sentiment of the organization overall.
